About Us
R.C. Bowman Inc. is an excavating and site development company based in the Centre Region. Richard "Dick" founded R.C. Bowman Excavating in 1970 after attending Williamsport Area Community College, where he attained a degree in drafting.

As an owner/operator he performed a variety of tasks from landscaping to septic installation. Basing his business on customer satisfaction and quality of workmanship he developed a large following of steady clientele. Over the years he slowly branched out into other areas of excavation. To meet the demands of his expanding business he added employees and purchased more equipment. Dick's sons slowly became involved in the family business over the years by working during the summers. As time passed, his sons went on to college, graduated, and then returned to apply the skills they had learned. Today, Dick is semi-retired and has passed the responsibilities of R.C. Bowman Inc. on to his sons Richard C. III "Rick", and Robert K. "Rob".

Rick Bowman grew up in the excavating business. Working alongside his father and brother during the summers, he gained a working knowledge of the excavating business and became an efficient equipment operator.

After graduating from high school, Rick continued his education at Lock Haven University, earning a degree in business management. In 1996 he joined the family business full time, taking on a variety of responsibilities. He is now the President and CEO of R.C. Bowman, Inc.

Rob also grew up in the family business, learning the disciplines of hard work and sometimes the frustrations of self-employment. After high school, he went on to obtain a dual degree in Surveying and Civil Engineering in 1997 from his father's alma mater, now The Pennsylvania College of Technology. He finds his place in the family business as chief estimator and job foreman.
